As we near the end of the kindy year many families and children are beginning to think about the transition to school. There have been many questions from parents about what the term school readiness' actually means. School readiness means different things to different people and there is no simple answer about what this term means. Most people now recognise that school readiness is about more than academic skills like counting and writing your name and encompasses many other aspects of child development including social skills, emotional competence and dispositions for learning.
