Don't forget the final working bee for the year is on next Saturday 10th September from 8am-12pm.
We will be doing a lot of work outside to get the gardens ready for Spring. There will be a sign up sheet at the desk next week, please come along and lend a hand if you are free.
Thank you to those families who expressed interest in attending a Triple P Positive Parenting course free of charge at Aspley East Kindy. There was strong interest in all three courses. In consultation with a Triple P facilitator we have secured the opportunity to host all three workshops free of charge at Aspley East Kindy during the month of October.
Please see the attached flyer for the times and dates. Please note that RSVP's need to be directed to the Triple P website (link on flyer), not to the kindy.
See here for a flyer about free health checks for 4-5 year olds available through the Child and Youth community health service .
Can you imagine not being able to read a newspaper, a road sign or directions on a bottle of medication? Sadly, this is a reality faced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living in remote communities today.
The literacy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous children is significant – and the more remote the community, the larger the gap. Since 2009, ILF’s Book Supply program has delivered more than 150,000 new books to over 250 communities nationally. But we need your help to continue these efforts.
All you need to do is swap one of your favourite books for someone else’s – for a gold coin donation.
Aspley East Kindy will be hosting a book swap event to raise funds in recognition of Indigenous Literacy Day.
What to do:
See here for a flyer regarding an open day being held at a local Speech Therapy clinic where you can access a low cost speech clarity and fine motor screening for your child.
